Privacy Policy

The website keeps anonymous statistics of visits and downloads to understand how many people use the apps.

The vegafab.com website

The website uses no cookies, shows no ads, and loads no third-party counters. Statistics are collected by the website's own server. When you open a page or download a file, it records:

  • the page address and the site you came from (the domain only);
  • the source tag from the link (utm_source or ref), if any;
  • the operating system, browser, and device type, taken from the User-Agent header;
  • the browser language, time zone, and screen size;
  • the country, region, and city derived from your IP address with a local database. The IP address itself isn't stored;
  • which file you downloaded and from which page.

To count visitors rather than page views, the server computes a one-way hash from the IP address, the User-Agent, and a secret server key. The IP address can't be recovered from it.

If your browser sends the Global Privacy Control signal, page views aren't recorded at all. Downloads are always counted, since there's no other way to know how many times an app was downloaded.

The data is used only for website statistics and isn't shared with anyone.

The feedback form separately sends the subject, the message, and a reply address to the developer by email. Those messages aren't stored in the statistics. The check against automated submissions runs on the site itself, with no third-party captcha and no cookies. The sender's IP address stays in the server's memory for a short time and isn't written to disk.

Location by IP is provided by IP Geolocation by DB-IP (CC BY 4.0 license).

Chronicler

The tree is stored only in your .chronicle files and the settings folder on your computer. The app never uploads the tree, names, or photos.

On start, Chronicler checks vegafab.com for updates. The request includes the installed app version and the operating system; the server records them the same way as downloads, without the IP address. You can turn the check off in Settings → Updates.

Close Circle

Names, dates, photos, and relations are stored only on your phone. The app collects no statistics, doesn't contact the developer's servers, and doesn't share data with third parties. A backup is created only when you ask for it and is saved wherever you choose.

If you installed the app from RuStore, the store may collect its own install statistics under its own rules.
